Sorting doesn't work when the column contains the title attribute

I have a column that contains a div and the title attribute. when the I attampt to sort on the column it sorts based on the contents of the title attribute and not the contents of the cell. How do I get the ability to have the column sort on the contents of the table and not the title attribute?

Can you link us to a page showing the issue please, so we can actually debug this. DataTables should strip HTML by default.
