change the state cookie from a persistent cookie to a session cookie.

My company's cookie policy does not allow writing to the hard drive. So I am trying to change the state save cookie from being a persistent cookie to a session cookie at time of initial cookie creation. I was wondering if someone has had this issue and what was their work around. thanks
