The following page describes an option named "aaData", which seems like the *same* thing.
http://datatables.net/ref

Consider correcting the website text or clarifying these options.

Thanks for pointing that out. The examples there are very out of date and shouldn't actually be accessible. I think my htaccess redirect must not be working on them at the moment for some reason... The current example is here: http://datatables.net/release-datatables/examples/data_sources/ajax.html

Awesome - thanks for the kind words and offer of hop! I'm currently rewriting the documentation as part of my work on DataTables 1.10. As with all documentation it is taking a while, but I think it will be worth it for the new format. When ready, the more eyeballs reading it the better! All feedback is always welcome.
