Export to Excel has .csv extension, why not .xls?

Hi All,

I'm using Datatables 1.10 and using the table tools extension. I was exporting using the excel button, but it is saved as .csv.
Why is it not exported as .xls?

Because it is not an xls file. You can use the TableTools options to change the extension if you want, but modern versions of Excel will report the file as corrupt (old versions worked just fine and TableTools did use an xls extension).

One day I'll get around to writing a real xlsx exporter...
