Incorrect Sorting

I have a problem with mixed plugins being needed... I need to somehow use num-html WITH currency plugins. I have a link that is a currency number, if I use num-html without the dollar symbol everything works great. If I have the dollar symbol it fails, and will not let you sort (clicking the header does nothing but change the header picture of the ascending/descending triangle). When I use the currency plugin the same thing happens. I need to use the currency plugin to eliminate the dollar sign from the sort, then to sort the numerical html string.

Any suggestions?
