By switching to version 1.10.1 the behaviour of my datatables application changed. Whenever I filter a column by using column.search(), not only the rows that do not match the filter expression, but also all rows that have an empty cell in any column left of the filtered column are sorted out.

I have noticed the same problem. It's causing a havoc on filtering by column.
Can you update to 1.10.2 please. It should be resolved there. If not, please link to a test case.

I went around this by looping all the data and inserting "-" when the content was "". This is a hack, but seems to work. :)
