datatables 1.10 and YADCF - ip address

Have successfully integrated datatables 1.10 and YADCF to filter data. The only column I cannot filter on is IP address. I am running server-side, with a mysql db. In the mysql db, the IP address is stored as an int (after I convert it using the php ip2long function). When I display the entire db, the IP address is correct, because I convert it using the php function long2ip. When I select an IP address from the list (I have the IP column set up as "select"), I convert the [column][3][search][value] using the php function ip2long for the query, but it consistently returns no records. How can I get the filter to work on an IP address?
