angular-datatables and promise troubles

Hello
I'm writing my first application in angular-datatables. I've seen a few plunkers with demonstrating the usage of promise object. Most of them tend not to work. I'm stuck in my project as I can't by any means load my data to a table using a service and resolved $q.defer object. Could someone point me in the right direction?
