Nowrap for certain server side column data

Hello i have been using datatables for a month now and getting used to it a bit. I Would like to ask how i could automatically nowrap certain columns like for example all dates should not be wrapped, while the rest should be wrapped. Would it be better to do this through css or is there a way i could do it during ajax
