The problem:
Using Buttons' Multi-column layout option all buttons in the additional columns are missing text.

Relevent example:
Multi-column Layout

Chrome version 45.0.2454.99 m:

Firefox version 40.0.3:

Internet Explorer 10.0.9200.17357CO:

Is this a known issue or am I doing something especially wrong?

This doesn't help you - sorry - but I'm getting the same effect when I look at the example with Chrome. So you're probably doing nothing wrong. No doubt Allan will have an answer tomorrow.

No, you aren't doing anything wrong, nor actually is Buttons. This is a Chrome bug.

This is the fix that I've committed to the Buttons source. You can use the nightly version of Buttons, or apply the CSS change locally.

See also this thread which discusses the problem.
