Rendering a cell containing a password, displaying asterisk , revealing upon click ... is it possibl

I need some hints to look for such capabilities from experienced developers ...
maybe getting the data value of the cell (plain text) on clicking into it , or displaying a bubble revealing it .

any hint driving me to solution or to forget it ...
