sorting multiple digit numbers but first character is the sort criteria

Hello I am trying to sort on numeral values but the sort is based on the first number instead of the actual value ex. 1, 10, 10, 100 etc instead of correct way 1,2,3,4 etc. I have tried a few scripts with no luck. Does anyone have any solutions?
