Server-side processing datatables

hi there, I have a htm table with cca 3000 rows and 7 columns. I´m still using client-side but it´s not very optimal solution and want to have server-side processing. I saw an example here on this page, but I´m a bit lack of expertise in this kind of stuff and I need help. Can you send me a whole simple example of working server-side processing html. page with few data? I really don´t understand how Ajax works exactly - I tried different methods - make arrays.txt file with some information in there, try put som coding into examples on this page but nothing seems to work for me. How to connect everything, so it can work together?
