Alert on clicking export buttons

I have a question on this export feature on Datatable.
Is it possible to let the user know how many rows are they exporting when the export buttons are clicked? Something like alert dialogue box which will tell the user how many rows are in the datatable which is going to be exported.
I researched and found that when we are using server-side processing, only the current page will be exported. so Please let me know if we can let the user something about the operation which they are going to perform.
