Envelope Display Controller

IN an envelope display controller, ajax is fetching data from staffs.php, what exactly is staffs.php? (Is it the data which is mentioned in ajax load? ) and in server script what is Datatables.php? Which code it contains I actually got confused so...

staff.php is an example server-side script that is used for many of the Editor examples. It is included in the PHP download package. It is also shown under the table in the examples in the "Server Script" tab.
