How to add number and action column

Hi, am new to data-tables and i have tried using the ssp class for server side processing but unfortunately i don't know how to use it to add the first column as a numbered column to have numbers like (1,2,3,4,5,6...). I also have intentions to add the last column as the action column that can have items like (delete and edit buttons). Kindly help me on how to go about it.
