Example code for filtering/searching with column reorder and visibility?

I have searched and searched about this issue, it seems to be an extremely common issue, loads of posts about it online, but with no definitive solution.

If you have filtering and search with column reordering and visibility, when you change the order or visibility of columns, it breaks the search and filters. I know why it is, its inconsistencies between the original indexes and then the new ones after changing order and visibility, but the issue is I cant see any example coding how to solve this online. I have been experimenting myself with various API methods to no avail. Even the example code on this site for search input boxes does not work once you add column reordering.

Does anyone have example code they can put on here to show how they deal with it please?
