Ajax sourced data - Example page gives JS errors

I am trying to test using DataTables and using the example at https://datatables.net/examples/data_sources/ajax.html I get Javascript errors inside the datatables.min.js file. Can someone tell me what I might be doing wrong?

Wow - that's an old version of jQuery .

DataTables requires 1.7 or newer.
