"Processing" indicator is not visible when number of entries is large

The "Processing" message is visible, roughly in the middle of the table, when the number of entries is low (ten entries, for example.) However, if you switch to a larger number of entries, the message moves lower down the page, and if you have a large number of entries, such as 100, it's not visible at all.

I use server-side processing, so it's more obvious in that case. I can't show a live example of my server-side table, but I believe you can see the problem with this client-side example, although the "Processing" message appears and reappears very quickly, so that it's more like a flicker:

The message is visible with ten entries. If you switch to 100 entries, it is not.

Is there a way to ensure that the "Processing" message is always visible?
