My version of datatables is : DataTables Editor v1.5.1, ©2012-2015 SpryMedia Ltd, all rights reserved.,License: editor.datatables.net/license

This is the string that is passed from editor.php back to the calling ajax function:
{"data":[{"DT_RowId":"row_9820","NARRSEQID":"9820","MASTERSEQID":"40616","VIN":"3C6UR5HL2JG166124","NRTV_TYPE":"CLM","NRTV_SEQ":"002","NRTV_DESC":"GARANTIE DE TRANSPORT, FAIT MA SOUMISSION DANS L'IMAGERIE ELLE A \u0090T\u0090 ACCEPT\u0090"}],"options":[]}

the u\0090 are not being converted to their proper French characters in the Datatables Editor row.
They is being displayed as a hollow square instead of É

    Problem solved.
    The database is Oracle, and I had to set the client environment variable NLS_LANG to AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
