Icon slows search?

I have a really strange one. I have Datatables enabled on one table in the DOM. There are several non-Datatables tables in the DOM as well. For some reason, adding any icon (Semantic UI icon) to any td in the non-Datatables tables causes the search on the Datatables enabled table to lag very badly. Why would Datatables care if I make any changes to non-Datatables tables?

That does seem strange. Without seeing what you are doing it would be hard to offer suggestions. Please provide a link to your page are a test case replicating the issue.
