Custom layout, specifying container for page controls, filter etc.

All working great so far but wondering if I can get the page number controls, buttons, page details info and records per page drop down in my own specified containers?

e.g. I have a footer on my page that shows on top of the content, it would be great if I could render the paging controls and the rest in that container rather than in the default layout.

I.e. can you specify containers (e.g. by id) to render those controls in?
