Extra symbol (<) appearing before table is displayed

I've got a very simple setup, and an extra character (<) is appearing right before the table. I don't see anything in my code, so I have to imagine that it's something possibly wrong with the javascript?

Has anyone dealt with this, and have they found a fix?
