How to make column disappear from javascript checkbox uncheck?

Description of problem:
Hi! I have a table where checkboxes control if a column is shown or not, if the checkbox changes state, it hides/shows the column.

However, on load i want the default to have column b shown and column c and d not shown.

I have tried to uncheck the checkbox at the end of the js file but it doesnt trigger the columns to disappear, it only unchecks the box.

Can somebody provide some advice here please?

You can use [jQuery trigger()` to trigger the change event, like this:
