Update URL on filtering

Hi

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't find it.
On a page a plain old datatable (but we can also switch to AJAX if that helps) I would like the filter options to be reflected in the URL, from where users can copy it and share it for others to get to the same filter state.

I saw there is an abandonned plugin that did something like that. But else: nothing.
Is that an option at all in DataTables?
If so, can you help me with the right search terms?

Hi @colin – that is the deep linking. But apparently the feature to update the URL respectively isn't available in DataTables, I guess
