Long press and select rows

We can select multiple rows by pressing shift and selecting the row on a PC. But if I am using a mobile, how can i select multiple rows? Can we just long press on a row (activate shift key) and then start selecting the rows?

Yep, as you say there's no mechanism like that. The solution on mobile would be to use checkboxes, as in this example,
