DataTables Editor drop down filter

Hello I haven't seen this posted on the forums yet. Is there a way to have a drop down that controls column display quickly, for example:

We have 2 drop down options:
option 1
option 2

Datables has columns 1-10

• option 1 selected

• display column 1, 2, 3 only

• option 2 selected

• display column 2-10 only

Originally I wanted to do this on the server side but I don't it's possible to have the client side dictation this.
