Editor: type: "select". Label from one table and value from another

Hello, Allan!
Is it possible to get in 'select' element of editor label from one table and value from another?
It is mentioned here that on February 2019 there was no such possibility. Sorry, are there any updates from that time?

We haven't added a join ability to the Options class yet I'm afraid. It is a limitation I'm aware of though. The workaround at the moment is to use a VIEW which will do the join required and the Options class can just query the view as it it were a table.

The view would be in the database, which would appear to Editor as a standard table. This would push the functionality onto the DB itself. You can consult your DBs manuals on how to create those VIEWs,
