Readily show existing selection for Datatable as an input

Loren MaxwellLoren Maxwell Posts: 406Questions: 99Answers: 10

The datatable as an input is great and I'm working on integrating it into my site.

However -- when I open a record for editing I would expect the current value to be readily shown, but if it's on page 7 or whatever I have to go through the entries to page 7 to see it.

Is there a default way to show the correct page or even move the entry to the top if using a scroll?

There isn't an option for that at the moment, but it is something we are going to be adding soon :).

    Hi Mark,

That should be working in the latest release of Editor (2.0.5).

That particular feature was added in 2.0.3.

    Hi Alan,

I am using 2.0.5. The option in the table as input is selected, but the option is not scrolled to.

    Your own example shows this:

    https://editor.datatables.net/examples/datatables/scroll.html

now select "Hamilton Blackburn" and click "Edit", which will pop up the edit box. The person is selected but not visible (or scrolled to).

Is there an extra call needed ?

    Regards

Ah - with scrolling yes, unfortunately we don't scroll to the row I'm afraid. The original issue and what I fixed before was for when paging is enabled. I've created a bug for scrolling so we can get that addressed as well, but it might be Editor 2.1 before we get to that I'm afraid.
