Character set for sorting columns

In a column, names starting with an accented character are displayed after the last alphabetical letter.
For instance, some named "Áldott" will appear after someone named "Zipse", which is quite annoying.
Is there a way to fix this? Is there a parameter to be set? I can't seem to find one.
