Search Panes Input gets cleared, when I choose an option in the select because of Cascade Panes

Hi guys,

I am using datatables with the search panes plugin and everything works as expected.
But when I turn on cascade panes, and then type in something into the search field, the search field gets cleared everytime I choose an option in the select.

If I type in Chief in the first pane and then want to select more then one search result the input gets cleared when selecting the first option.
Is there a way to prevent this and have the selection of one search panes exactly as it is in the normal configuration but with cascade panes active?
