Problem with data in column being searchable

davidrledavidrle Posts: 2Questions: 1Answers: 0

Really struggling with this one.

I have data in a table that follows a specific format. An example of it, looks like this:

12"‐5208‐B

I can't seem to get the search to work to find data like that.

If I type 12" it displays, but by the time I type the - character, so "12"-" it doesn't display any data.

I've tried making the column HTML but that didn't work.

Any ideas how I can get around this?

Thanks
David

DataTables uses " for exact matching - just like in Google and other search engines. The phrase surrounded by " will be matched like that, rather than the default of any order for the words.

Disable the smart search if you don't want that - search.smart.

    Thank you so much!

ChatGTP told me to set search.smart to TRUE, which I did
Didn't think to try the complete opposite of what it told me. Just goes to show...
