Editor version compatible with PHP 5.3: how to download

Editor version compatible with PHP 5.3: how to download

bobebobe Posts: 3Questions: 1Answers: 0

Hello:
The PHP library on the main downloads pages requires PHP 5.4+.

I see this somewhat ancient question/answer regarding a version of Editor that is compatible with PHP 5.3.
https://datatables.net/forums/discussion/comment/157999/#Comment_157999

I believe Editor version 2.3 removed support for PHP 5.3. so I assume any earlier version should work.

I see the older versions listed here
https://editor.datatables.net/download/all

But I don't see how to download them.

I read that I need to have a license to download an older version of Editor. If I purchase a license will I also get instructions on how to download earlier versions?

Thanks for your help.

With an Editor license you'll be able to download specific versions - e.g. from here.

It should be noted that PHP 5.3 is no longer supported. Obviously if there is a specific problem I can look into it, but new features and newer versions will not be back ported.

I'm getting quite close to dropping PHP 5.x support entirely. PHP stopped supporting 5.3 in 2013, and 5.6 in 2018.

Oh and BTW you may want to edit this:

Editor comes with a set pre-built PHP (5.3+) libraries which are designed to make it super easy to create a script on the server-side that will provide an anchor point for Editor's client-side scripts

That said, the documentation is great
