When I change the strings in fnRowCallback, can the search box pick up the changed text?

I would appreciate any insight on this. I reformat some of the returned data (pretty string the time and date) and wish to be able to type the pretty string into the search box and have it filter down to the matches. It only filters down to the text before the change in the fnRowCallback.

What can I do to achieve what I want?
