RowGroup EndRenderer: single row support only?

I'm looking to summarize a number of different columns a few different ways. Totals, averages, and subtotals based on a different grouping are all needed, so I was hoping to insert multiple rows into the endrenderer. Is this not possible? My 2 work arounds I've thought of would be either a single <tr> using <br/> to get the numbers on new lines in each cell, or inserting a nested table into a single cell that spans all columns. Neither feel right to be because, well, they are workarounds. However, whatever works.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

This example here should help - it shows how you can do those averages in the footer for the group.
