Sort doesn't work when custom search in use

I am using DataTables on a project and I have applied custom search with filter option, but when it's in use the column sort it's not working.
Is there a specific method to use both filter option on search and sort?

They both coexist and work together. Are you getting errors in the browser's console? Please post a link to a test case showing the problem so we can help debug.
